Authors purpose; suicide.

In December 2001, Barry Parr was working as a window cleaner in a tiny UK village. One afternoon, just as he was finishing a job, he heard a yell and looked up to see a 14-year-old girl preparing to hang herself from a nearby tree. Already showing signs of his incipient heroism, Parr grabbed his ladder and raced across the road to try and talk her down. And that’s when things got real.

The moment Parr started to climb his ladder, the girl jumped. Luckily, Parr managed to catch her in his arms, holding her far enough off the ground tosave her life. Less luckily, he found himself now stuck up a ladder, holding a violent teenage girl desperate to squirm out of his grasp and finish the job. Bear in mind this was the middle of a very cold winter, and the two were all alone in the village. How long do you think Parr managed to hold her up for? Ten minutes? Twenty?

It was a whole hour. For an entire hour, Parr balanced on his ladder, holding a hysterical, suicidal girl aloft in the searing cold. Eventually someone realized this wasn’t performance art and called the cops—but not before Parr had proven how far the world was ready to go to keep this one lonely girl alive.

this is a story I just read. its crazy how a single person can help someone. I believe the authors purpose was to let us know that someone can help with a single action and save someones life. The author is probably telling us this to let us know there are people who care, little does everyone know. Not everyone is cruel.

She had a career and everything to keep her family happy and her horrible husband THE FATHER OF HER KIDS is beating her telling her shes a bad mother? for supporting her family. Its bad when you put her in the hospital. The pain and suffering she went through and she got up stronger than before. Today, Kathleen looks back, recognizing the tremendous strides she has made as a survivor of domestic violence. Despite the pain she still suffers from her physical injuries and the ongoing struggle to feel safe after intimate partner abuse, Kathleen has become a passionate advocate in the movement to end domestic violence. I got MAD RESPECT for her.

This girl is worried about her mom hating her but yet fails to think that MAYBE JUST MAYBE if she would have kept that baby her life would have changeed completly, her abusive boyfriend? She could have took the baby and left, because at the end of the day your baby should be ahead of anyone and everyone.

i believe the authors purose of clay talking to him his mom is to show that he is nervous that he dont want nobody to know or that he dont want his mom to freak out.

I beleieve in chapter two, everyone involved in the girls death gets the packages & opens them in shock. I believe that in chapter two that is when Clay beings his trip around town to find out about her death & how he is responsible for his death.

Clay Jensen is the boy who got a tape. In the story he seems upset that he got one. He also seemed clueless because he dont understand what he did so wrong to get one. He believes that her secrets should be buried with her until he knows that SOMEHOW he is responsible for her death. He follows around town to find out about her death.

I believe at the beginning of the story the authors purpose of telling us about the packaging is to let us know that the packages might just be the tapes and to let us be sitting at the edge of our seat to know what the packages are.

In Chapter 1 ppage 17, Taylor talks about how he is going to try and injure the other player by raming his helmet into him or bring his arm over his head and try to axe the sonuvabitch in two. I believe that is a dramatic sence it gave me chills to think he is that dangerous in a game of football.

Is my favorite quote because it kind of sounds like me and he was really serious when he was talking about it. I think that the authors purpose of adding peoples lives was to see how they felt.    In chapter 3, it tells the story about how the game begins.
